SID PC64 plugin for Winamp
What is it?
It's a Winamp plugin which plays .sid files on real C64 through a PC64 cable.
Installation
- Connect PC with C64 through PC64 cable (switch off computers before doing this)
- Copy in_pc64.dll file to ...\Winamp\Plugins
- Run small executable on C64
Remarks
- If you use Windows NT/XP/2000/2003 you'll have to log in as admin at least for first time
- If you log in as user without admin proviledges use configuration option Don't start UserPort service on Winamp start
Play what?
- Multispeed songs are supported
- Tunes which use samples are not supported
- Change playing sub-tune number moving Winamp's position bar (if disabled there is only one sub-song)
- The whole song must be transfered to C64 before playing, it can take few seconds - rasters on borders (c64), progress window (pc)
- Plugin and c64 can hang from time to time - not all tunes have been tested.
- Player on C64 is $6a bytes long (including IRQ and simple transfer routines) so don't say it's lame ;-)
- Plugin was tested on Windows XP professional and Windows 2003 Server using Winamp 2.91, AMD Duron 1800
Whats new?
version 2.01
- some songs use $DD0E register, which is also used by player. Now user may disable song checking (more tunes supported, but some of them may hang)
- tune status in song info dialog
version 2.00
- Windows XP/2000/2003 compatible
- detailed song info
- selectable parallel (LPT) port
- custom playing time
- better stability
- transfer progress window
- and more
